Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gaming is banned. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around vacation and hotel compound that highlights numerous conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and 88 table games.
